Saturday 4th July

Woke up for our luxury Buffet Breakfast, i ate enough for the whole day. Had to leave our swanky air conditioned hotel today, packed up and took a step outside in to the heat, ugh! Went straight to TAT (like our tourist info), we must have spent over an hour sorting out what to book or not, got a good price... i think or hope! Even got off paying the credit card charge. We booked up stuff till the 15th. They suggested we got a taxi to our next hotel but we thought after spending all that bests to walk the 20mins... altho it took an hour!

So eventually we arrived at 'my hotel' in the Pratunum area of Bangkok, to dump our bags. Took the free Tuk Tuk to the end of the street, a free Tuk Tuk organised by your hotel is the only type id advise you to take unless you wana get ripped off! Hopped on to the Sky Train Ratchathewi to Sala Daeng, got some lunch from a street vendor, not sure what it was but there was meat and rice involved for a mere B20. Ate in Lumphini Park by the lake, where a family were feeding some cat fish, looked like a magic eye pic, turtles or terrapins coming out to be hand fed and Monitor Lizard that wrestled with its dinner (an eel) before watching it swallow it, wriggle in its throat then gulp it further down, amazing!

As the sun set we stumbled across Gallery N, opening night of exhibition 'Mindscape' by Yuwatee Jehkoh, a recent graduate. Think we were a bit of a novelty they took photos of us with the artist and looking around the studio! Intoxicating colours and interesting to look at but felt i had to look a little longer than i desired after our warm reception. Sat outside after or a few complimentary nibbles and a drink. A guy tried to give us an extra stool as a table, we got a little a confused resulting in musical chairs briefly.

Headed back through the park, v.safe or so it seems. More con artist crime than violent crime i guess. No smoking in the park, yet you can smoke pretty much EVERYWHERE else, quite odd, not as many rules and regs as the parks saw in America tho! Sky Train back to hotel, tv and bed to sleep until Liz found a spider on the bed and i a gecko on the toilet roll (i didnt scream) oh and a mozi, fun and games of hysterical laughing...
